The Person in the Painting Soliloquy Writing

The Person in the Painting Soliloquy Writing In-Person

Join us for a brand new adult program that will engage your self-reflection and writing muscles. After taking a guided tour of our current show, Debra Clem: Surface & Illusion, we'll head to The Study to write soliloquies inspired by the exhibit. You might be asking, "what is a soliloquy?" The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines "soliloquy" as "the act of talking to oneself" or "a poem, discourse, or utterance of a character in a drama that has the form of a monologue or gives the illusion of being a series of unspoken reflections." Surface & Illusion features several portraits, including a self-portrait, that hold so many layers - about the person we physically see in the portraits, their environment, their expressions, their stories, and their relationship to the artist. In this program, we'll peel back some of those layers and explore how we relate to them ourselves. Spots are limited, so sign up now! Registration is required.
