Synopsis:

Connor Major's summer isn't going according to plan, and his very religious mother is keeping a close eye on him, especially since he came out at his boyfriend's insistence. But just as he thinks summer vacation couldn't get any worse, his mother has him kidnapped and sent away to Nightlight Ministries, a camp dedicated to converting queer youth into upstanding heterosexuals. As Connor, himself white, gets to know his racially diverse fellow campers and staff, he realizes that maybe not everyone is as "converted" as they first appear. Not to mention, the camp director appears to be hiding some horrifying truths that Connor is secretly working to expose. While the narrative does explore queer pain—family rejection, depression, emotional and physical trauma—Surrender Your Sons more importantly celebrates queer strength and resilience.
