“You Do What for a Job? Theming and the Art of Experience”

“You Do What for a Job? Theming and the Art of Experience” Online

On Wednesday, July 22, join Jim Doiron, Director of Specialty Fabrication and a Partner at the Weber Group, Inc., for a talk about theming and the art of experience. Chances are, if you aren’t familiar with the Weber Group name, you may have enjoyed some of their exciting projects while at a vacation hotspot or area attraction.

Founded in 1983 by brothers Tom and Donny Weber, the business was initially involved with historical preservation, renovation, and new housing construction projects. As the business grew, the Weber Group began taking on more unconventional projects, which required creative solutions for a growing number of theme parks, zoos, and botanical gardens interested in interactive, branded environments. Today, the Weber Group also continues its commercial and residential property division, with an eye towards building affordable housing.

The Weber Group, which is located in Sellersburg, Indiana, recently restructured and keeps changing with the demand for new and entertaining experiences. Their national clients include Walt Disney World Resort, Kings Island, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, Six Flags Texas, Great Wolf Lodge, Crayola, and Busch Gardens of Williamsburg, among many other familiar brands. In the Louisville area, examples of the Weber Group’s work can be experienced at Churchill Downs, the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience, Gilda’s Club Kentuckiana, Louisville Zoo, and the Frazier History Museum, among others.

2020 Lunch and Learn Programs generously sponsored by Sara and Jamey Aebersold.
