Lunch and Learn, Driftwood: The Life of Harlan Hubbard, with Jessica Whitehead

Lunch and Learn, Driftwood: The Life of Harlan Hubbard, with Jessica Whitehead In-Person

It has been a whirlwind of a year for our next Lunch and Learn speaker, Jessica K. Whitehead (right).  We are so glad to be able to welcome her to New Albany and to speak to our audience. Her latest book Driftwood: The Life of Harlan Hubbard fulfills many years of personal research that has led to this well-received biography. This year we have been thematically exploring the Ohio River. Our last Lunch and Learn speaker, Joe Wolek, talked about efforts to preserve the Hubbards’ home at Payne Hollow across the Ohio River from Madison, Indiana. Jessica’s work explores the artist’s early roots and the remarkable way of life he co-created with his librarian/musician wife Anna. Jessica is also the Curator of Collections for the Kentucky Derby Museum, where she has recently written The History of the Kentucky Derby in 75 Objects, published through the University Press of Kentucky.

Free and open to the public, but reservations are requested. You are welcome to bring a lunch. Books will be available for purchase and signing.
