Learn to Play American Mahjong! In-Person
Are you interested in learning American Mahjong?
Join us for this three-part teaching series, where you will be taught the basics of playing American Mahjong, a variant of the classic tile-based game of skill and chance played in China. Each lesson builds on the past lesson, so we highly encourage you to sign up for all 3 weeks (Sept. 12, 19, & 26), this will maximize your understanding of the game. It takes a minimum of three lessons to learn the game, but once you learn the basics, you should be able to start playing with other players.
Several experienced players will be on hand to explain and teach the game, the intention is for you to become a skilled player! The game of Mah-Jongg exercises many areas of the brain, and may be one of the best things people can do to maintain brain health. While playing, players socialize, analyze, organize, strategize and make back-up plans.
Classes are free and geared for adults, tile sets will be provided. Registration is required for planning purposes.
