Free Concert: Mary Meyers In-Person

Join us for a free concert performed by U of L Masters student and Community Music Alliance teacher Mary Meyers, with accompaniment on the piano by Adrienne Fontenot.

 

Mary Meyers is a Masters student and teaching assistant in Viola Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Louisville, where she studies under Dr. Kevin Nordstrom. She is principal violist of the UofL Symphony Orchestra, and a member of the UofL Graduate String Quartet. 

Mary completed her undergraduate degree in Music Education at the University of Kentucky, where she studied under Professor Margie Karp. During this time, she performed with the UK Symphony Orchestra and various chamber ensembles. She also was a teaching assistant at UK’s String Project program.

Mary regularly teaches and performs in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. She has been a substitute musician with the Cave Run Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra Kentucky of Bowling Green, and the Evansville Philharmonic. She previously taught at Central Music Academy in Lexington, a non-profit dedicated to providing underserved students with quality music lessons. Currently, she teaches viola privately at the Boaz Performance Academy in Floyds Knobs, Indiana, and violin and viola group classes at Community Music Alliance in New Albany, Indiana, which is a non-profit dedicated to providing the community with free music lessons.

 

This is an all-ages event.
