Embroidery Workshop

Embroidery Workshop In-Person

Inspired by the book All That She Carried: The Journey of Ashley's Sack, a Black Family Keepsake by Tiya Miles, and in celebration of Black History Month, the Cultural Arts Center is honored to host an embroidery class. This class teaches you to prepare an embroidery hoop, thread a needle, and create a dozen stitches! This introductory workshop is open to all experience levels and participants 14 years and older. Join us in exploring the story and power history of embroidery.

This workshop is courtesy of One State / One Story: All That She Carried/Freedom Over Me, presented by Indiana Humanities in partnership with the Indiana Center for the Book and the Indiana State Library as part of Indiana Humanities’ Advancing Racial Equity Project, supported by Lilly Endowment.
