Art History Illustrated, Vincent van Gogh: In His Own Words

Art History Illustrated, Vincent van Gogh: In His Own Words In-Person

New start time 5:30 PM!

Now one of the most popular artists of all time, Vincent van Gogh died believing himself to be a failure. His life story is one full of heartbreaking challenges, including struggles with mental illness, substance abuse, chronic rejection, and difficult relationships. Spend the evening with his gorgeous paintings and work toward understanding them with art historian Brenda Edgar, not through the academic publications of art historians, but through his own words in the many letters he left behind. His prolific visual and verbal output together will leave you with deep insight into the man and his work.

Join us for our “Art History Illustrated” talk series, held the third Thursday of every month at 5:30 p.m. This monthly illustrated talk series is presented by art historian Brenda Edgar, in collaboration with the Carnegie Center for Art and History.
